In July 2023 we implemented a new online enrolment system for short course enrolments. After testing it throughout the summer enrolment period, it is now being rolled out across all unaccredited short courses for the coming academic year.

Instructions for using the system

The first time you use the system:

  • Navigate to the course you’re interested in
  • Press the enrol button
  • Follow the instructions on screen to create an account
  • Work through the enrolment process
  • Check out and pay
  • You will receive an email acknowledging your account set up, a payment receipt and an enrolment acknowledgement

Subsequent enrolments:

  • Navigate to the course you’re interested in
  • Press the enrol button
  • Login to your account (you may already be logged in)
  • The system remembers some of your answers so that you can skip to check out
  • Any fields that need re-inputting will be highlighted
  • Check out and pay
  • You will receive a payment receipt and an enrolment acknowledgement

A note for existing students

The new system isn’t linked to the old one so you will need to create a new login. At present you will need to enrol on courses one by one. Later on in the year it will be possible to add more than one course to the basket and check them all out at once. We will email you when this feature becomes available.

You may wish to access your course purchase history in the old system and you will be able to do this by .

ÉÙÅ®¸£Àû takes student feedback seriously and has a Complaints Policy and Procedure describing how you can raise issues and how they may be resolved.

The CollegeÌýStudent CharterÌýis the framework for the learning experience of students, stating what you can expect from the College and what the College expects from you. Student complaints should be based on the undertakings of the Charter or the College’s associated policies on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Harassment and Bullying.

If you have a concern or a complaint, please notify your tutor or the member of staff associated with the matter you wish to raise. If you are unable to resolve the issue in this way, you can instead notify your Programme Manager who will be able to process your complaint formally or complete the Formal Student Complaint Form linked below. A record of all Complaints is held by the College to ensure that student feedback drives enhancement.

I am a young Adult Carer.Ìý What support can I get from ÉÙÅ®¸£Àû to ensure I get the best out of my college experience and achieve my goals?

Who is a young adult carer?

A young adult carer is anyone who is aged 16-25 years that helps care for a family member, partner, or friend who is disabled, physically or mentally ill, has a long-term serious illness or has a substance misuse problem. At Morley we recognize the commitment you are making by studying with us and also recognize that this may be a tough journey for you at times, as you balance your study and caring responsibilities.

What does Morley offer?

  • Dedicated point of contact – Each centre has a Young Adult Carers Lead. They will work with you to ensure that the academic team are able to support you in relation to succeeding on your course, taking your individual home circumstances into account e.g. reasonable adjustments around submission dates.Ìý
  • Pre-enrolment Discovery Day – you will have the opportunity to meet with other students who carryout similar day-to-day caring tasks, take part in a current affairs workshop and meet the Student Services Team who can support you with applying for a bursary and/or additional learning support
  • Meeting with our Young Carers Lead during induction week – you will get offered a one-to-one support session during induction week with your centres Young Adult Carers Lead. • Personal Tutor – once you have enrolled you will be assigned a Personal Tutor. Their main role is to advise you on academic matters, but you can also discuss non-academic matters with them. If they aren’t able to help you, they will liaise with colleagues to get you the support you need

You can have group and individual conversations with your centre’s Young Adult Carers Lead who will be on-hand to offer advice and guidance. You can also use this group to affect change in the college by letting us know about your experience of studying with us
  • The opportunity to get involved in Young Carers Awareness Week – Working with our Wellbeing Coordinator you will get the opportunity to feed into what it is you would like to see the college do during this week. You can also get involved in running or coordinating an event if this is something that appeals to you.

Further information and support

To report any safeguarding concern please speak to any member of staff, email safeguarding@morleycollege.ac.uk or call 0207 4501889 and ask to speak to a member of the safeguarding team.

At ÉÙÅ®¸£Àû London safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We have a Safeguarding Team at each of our three centres who work to ensure that children and vulnerable adults are protected from harm and exploitation. All staff at Morley are familiar with the College’s Safeguarding and Prevent Policy and take part in mandatory Safeguarding training so they can recognise and act appropriately on any safeguarding concerns, and report disclosures and concerns following the correct College procedures.

Safeguarding and Prevent Policy

Our Safeguarding and Prevent Policy is available to download:

The Safeguarding Teams take part in additional specific subject training and run internal training for staff and workshops for students.

The College takes advice and guidance from the Safeguarding Teams on complex cases from the local authority where the student lives, as well as seeking advice from local authority Single Point of Access Services.

The College can support students internally via:

  • The Safeguarding Team and Tutors
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing Team
  • Counselling (Level 3+)
  • Community Living Well
  • Student Progress Advisers

Prevent

Prevent is part of the UK’s counter-terrorism strategy, preventing people from becoming involved in terrorism or supporting terrorism. The College has a responsibility to recognise when someone may be becoming involved in or supporting terrorism, and to offer support and make external referrals where necessary. The College understands that safeguarding vulnerable people from radicalisation is no different from safeguarding them from other forms of harm. All staff at Morley are familiar with the College’s and take part in mandatory Prevent training so they can recognise and act appropriately on any Prevent concerns and report disclosures and concerns following the correct College procedures.

The Safeguarding Teams take part in additional specific subject training and run internal training for staff and workshops for students.

The College takes advice and guidance from the FE Regional Prevent Coordinator on complex cases and is part of the FE Regional Prevent Forum.

If you have a Prevent concern about one of our students, or you want to speak to a member of the Safeguarding Team please contact safeguarding@morleycollege.ac.uk
